A standby generator is a major investment in your home. Before you sign, know what you are paying for, who will service it, and what the warranty really covers. Konopka Electric has never charged for an estimate, and we never will.
Some contractors now charge a fee before they will come out and look at the job. We do not think that is a good way to start a working relationship.
At Konopka Electric, every estimate is free. We want to earn your business, not charge you to consider us for the job.
We also hear from homeowners who were quoted far more than they expected for a generator installation, sometimes close to double, and in some cases without the gas work included. A higher price does not automatically mean better equipment, better service or more experience.
No fee to look at your job. No pressure to sign.
We visit, size the right unit for your home, and give you a complete written quote so you can compare it side by side with anyone else's.Selling a generator is one thing. Having the experience and the resources to stand behind it is another. These three questions separate the two.
Ask who will install and service your unit, and whether they are trained by the manufacturer on the equipment they are selling you.
Ask whether the company offers a maintenance program and answers service calls, or only shows up for installation day.
Ask what kind of factory warranty you are getting, how long it lasts, and what is and is not covered. Get it in writing.
One more: make sure the quote is complete, including the gas work, so the price you compare is the price you pay.
